Chapter 9
Night of Barney and the New Guy
Part 1
Even though he had been around for 400 years or so, there was still even a few things that scared the hell out of him. Barney the purple talking dinosaur was one of those things. An angry Oriqui being another as well. As far as he was concerned, Barney was a form of evil incarnate and everyone that knew him thought he was crazy and often made fun of him for it and his fear of Oriqui. Oriqui herself was among those who thought it was crazy of him, and knew of his slight fear of her. But Lyconus didn't let any of it bother him as he often ignored what they said. I'm gonna kill who ever thought this up... He was annoyed, but that was showing more in his head then actually on his face.
“Oh come on Lyco! Turn that frown into a smile! I guarantee you won't regret it!” The bubbly happiness emanating from the creature was annoying and worthy of an eye twitch.
“I'd love to stay and hug you until you cried with happiness, but I have to be going! Hug ya later!” And then he disappeared. Lyconus got the feeling magic of some kind had been involved. But thanked who ever was listening from on high that the creature was gone.
He let out a sigh of relief and made a mental note to himself to find out who was responsible and hurt them badly. As he finished up the last of his sandwich, he noticed that Naomi was gone. And to his continuing stroke of bad luck, an Elder by the name of Erica came in. An aura of strength and lust radiated off of her. She had long brunette hair that she often kept in a braid to keep it from getting in her eyes. The clothing she usually wore was either a toga or several different pairs of short shorts and tank tops. All of which came in a variety of colors and her choice of clothing was a bit on the revealing side. Considering which due to her choice of clothes wearing, usually was always cause for a clash between herself and an uptight elder or even Oriqui herself. Sandals were her only choice of foot wear and as for why she wore them was anyone's guess. She might not have muscles or a very big body in which to be intimidating, the slimness of her body gave her some quick speed and was more of a blessing then a curse. Her chest was quite big itself, which was another thing she was proud of. And she could also throw a mean punch when she had too. She was known to many of the Clan members as a seductress, often having her way with untaken men and often leaving them in a drunken like stupor with a big smile on their faces. One thing she never does is mess with a taken man. That's one thing she would never do as it would cause problems. Another known thing about her is that she seemed to have some serious interest in Lyconus. Which he considered to be something he really didn't need to deal with. What made it worse was that he too was starting to find interest in her. As to why she wanted only to bear his cubs was a bit of a mystery, but everyone soon accepted it as an inevitable thing and often found their interactions to be amusing and interesting.
He decided to turn his attention back to the food behind him in hopes it would make her leave. Although he should have realized that it wouldn't do any good and groaned. “Mmmm... Lyco..” Her voice often carried a lusty type of voice and she often used it on Lyconus more then anyone else.
She made her way silently to him and wrapped her arms around him and pressed her body into his back. Which caused him to stiffen a little and gain another eye twitch. Not daring to look at her, he started to talk in as serious a voice as he could muster. “My answer as always Erica, is no.” For him any time he dealt with her had to be taken seriously.
She smiled widely at him and then laughed, causing him to wonder what it was she was laughing about. She knew he would say something like that and could work it to an advantage. Unfortunately for him cause he couldn't see her face. She was still smiling and her dark green eyes were twinkling in delight. She rubbed his chest with her hands as she nibbled on his ear, knowing full well it was both torment and on some level enjoyable for him. She stopped her treatment on his ear and then whispered huskily into it. “Sorry lover, but that's not what I'm here for. Myself and the Elders have arranged for you to be put in charge of a new member's training, and to see to it that he makes his first kill in his human form so he won't feel as guilty when he kills in wolf form.” Finished with that, she went back to her delightful fun of nibbling on his ear.
He growled in annoyance at what the Elders had done and because of what Erica was doing to him. But unfortunately for him once again, it only turned her on even more. He composed himself the best he could and then spoke. “I imagine they've ordered this as a way of punishing me for the losses against the magic wielders?”
“That and because they feel you are better suited for the task. And another reason is cause you currently aren't doing anything besides stuffing your face and cowering in fear of a purple dinosaur.”
Well.. one thing you could be doing with your time is taking me to your bed. She thought to herself with a giggle. She more or less found it amusing of his fear of the creature and wondered if she could have some fun with it. Putting that thought aside for the moment she started to kiss his neck.
Growling even more, he shrugged her off as he gently as he could and got up and headed towards the tunnel. He may be trying to deny her what she wanted, but he wasn't about to be an ass to her. Which for Erica made him even more appealing. He briefly wondered what she was giggling about but thought he was better off not thinking on it. Stopping at the exit into the tunnel he turned back towards her. “What's his name, where's he at currently, and what's he look like?”
She had sat down his chair and watched him walk off with a smile on her face, not all that bothered by his shrugging her off. She was a bit used to it and found it continued on with their game that she would eventually win. “His name is Doug 'Lotus' Calhan. He's of African descent, has black dreads that go past his shoulders and has brown eyes. He's a rather skinny person and somewhere in his 20's. And he's currently in the West side entrance.”
Lyconus nodded at her in an appreciative way and then looked towards the tunnel and then back at her. “You need to find someone else Erica.. I am simply not what you need.” And with out bothering to hear what she would have to say he walked out.
She scowled at him, determined to not shed a tear over his words. “I know that as much as your words me lover, they hurt you just a bit more..” Her words had come quietly. A tear finally came down her face after she had lost her internal struggle to not shed a tear, she then became determined to have the last word and went after him.
West Entrance
Using quick speed so he could get as far from Erica as he could, he quickly made his way towards the West entrance and saw the new clan member. He was dressed in a black t-shirt with the band name 'AC/DC' on it, wore blue jeans that had holes in the knee areas, and was wearing black sneakers. Erica's information had been spot on concerning the new member's skinny body. Not that he would ever doubt anything she told him. “Hey newbie.. welcome to the Clan.” He called out to him and then as he got closer he brought his hand to shake the new guy's hand. He would have given him a warrior's handshake but he felt that might not be appropriate just yet.
Doug eyed him a little fearfully, worried that the guy might be there to kill him. But when he saw the man's hand stretched out he calmed down a little and rose his to shake the man's hand. “Y-you Lyconus by any c-chance?” He didn't often stutter but he couldn't help it due to how scary the white guy seemed. Didn't help any when he saw that clearly the man was a bit annoyed.
While the handshake wasn't as firm as he would have liked, he did have some small measure of hope that the newbie would be able to manage with his new life. But if not then he would just let nature take its course and move on. He could also see the fear in the boy's eyes and couldn't really blame him. Hell, his world had been turned upside down so he couldn't really blame him. And he could sense that the fear was also of him but didn't really bother him any. “Yes, yes I am. Tonight I'm taking you out to help you get better adjusted to living life as a Lycan.” Hopefully he wouldn't have too much trouble with the kid but wasn't going to be too hopeful about it.
Taking back his hand, he nodded nervously and looked at what the man was wearing. Lyconus at the moment was wearing a white muscle shirt with a red and black checkered jacket over it that came with a hood. He was wearing faded black pants that had a few pockets on them. His armor and sword were no where in sight. He was wearing brown work boots that had mud and old traces of sewage on them. Daring to look the man straight in the eyes, he talked. “I-i'm not gonna have to k-kill anyone w-will I?”
Lyconus smirked inwardly as the boy looked him in the eyes. “Maybe, maybe not. Depends on what's going on.”
Doug gulped, not liking the answer at all. “S-somehow.. that really d-doesn't fill me with hope.”
Lyconus howled with laughter at the boy's response and had to hold on to Doug's shoulder in order to keep himself from falling down. W-what the? He finds this amusing?! Doug couldn't believe his hearing or sight. He was starting to think that these people had lost their sanity after living so long down in the sewers. His eyes widened in shock and surprise when he saw a very beautiful woman come in and wondered if he could get to know her a little better. Unfortunately for Lyconus he wasn't able to see the look on Doug's face until it was too late. “Hmm... what has you holding yourself with laughter.. lover?” That lusty tone made him freeze up and groan.
Doug looked over at him in shock and wondered how the hell this guy was able to bag such a babe. Lyconus composed himself as best he could, of course there was that look of a deer caught in the headlights and general annoyance which Doug and anyone else could see clearly. “Erm.. something Doug said is all.”
Her eyes were twinkling again along with a smile on her face. She loved having certain kinds of affects on him, mostly cause his reactions were so amusing. “Interesting.. as much as I would love to find out more, I will have to wait till later. But lover.. one thing before you go.”
Doug was feeling some mild amusement about how this girl was bothering the big guy. He was in for another shock however when she did something that would leave Lyconus in a bit of shock himself. As for Lyconus anyway, he was about to ask her what it was she wanted and was already thinking of what it could be. Erica walked up to him, and then with a smile grabbed his head and gave him a kiss full on the lips with a little tongue added. His eyes were wide in shock and no thoughts were forming in his head. Briefly he thought he heard laughter. Which in fact much laughter was coming from Doug. After what felt like an eternity, she let go of him and was beaming at him quite happily. “I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did lover.” Trailing a finger down his chest, she then walked off with a suggestive sway to her hips.
After five minutes, in which by then Doug had gotten a hold of himself and decided to wait for Lyconus to snap out of it. Which he realized wasn't gonna happen anytime soon unless he did something. So with a small amount of courage which he knew he would wind up regretting later, he slapped Lyconus' face hard. Lyconus shook out the cobwebs and glared at the boy. “What the HELL did you do that for?”
“Uhh... y-you were staring off into space a-and I had to do s-something!” Damn his stutter! He could do with out it at that point!
Grumbling to himself and making a silent promise that he would get back at the boy somehow, walked towards the entrance. He turned to look back at Doug. “Well? You comin' or not?” And then walked out.
“Yeah! Hold on!” Doug was surprised at himself for speaking so loudly and with out stuttering. And he too made his way out. Not knowing what would be in store for him.
