"Researchers have devised a penny-sized silicon chip that uses photons to run Shor's algorithm - a well-known quantum approach - to solve a maths problem." This one got me excited until the last statements lol... Hopefully this moves along faster and becomes our next line of computing hardware! On one hand this is great and could help solve many more problems and issues and help us invent even more! On the other hand this is one step closer to technology ruling us!

These are the kind of things that fascinate me. I can't wait to see what they can do with this. Lets just hope we don't let it get out of control as you said

Not being able to wait is an issue though .. it's going to be around another decade until they become consumer usable in the computer industry! .. lol Maybe we can do it in 5 years? ... Never really know
